Moscow : CIS leaders will discuss economic trade and migration policies at an informal summit to be held in Moscow on Friday, a Kremlin source said.
The drawing up of a document, Strategy for the Commonwealth’s Economic Development, will also be discussed at the summit. The document should provide a set of measures aimed at boosting economic cooperation, raising competitiveness of the CIS member states and fostering social and economic development.
“In this respect, issues of migration policy in the commonwealth area are of particular importance,” the source said.
CIS countries declared 2007 was the Year of Migration, while 2008 is the Year of Transport.
