The statement of one more accused will be recorded Monday.

The statements of Delhi-based doctor Saraj Kumar and Gyasuddin, the lab assistant who allegedly acted as a tout for scam kingpin Amit Kumar, were Saturday recorded before Metropolitan Magistrate Chandra Shekhar under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) Act.

This means that their statements will be admissible in the court as evidence and they cannot retract their statements during the trial of the case.

Jagdish, another lab assistant, will appear before the court Monday for the recording of his statement.

Saraj Kumar, a key associate of Amit Kumar, surrendered before the Gurgaon court earlier this month after absconding for nearly two weeks.

Last month, the Moradabad police had arrested lab technicians Gyasuddin and Jagdish, who allegedly used to arrange kidney donors.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had booked Saraj Kumar, along with Amit Kumar, his brother Jeewan Kumar and Upendra Aggarwal, in the kidney racket that was unearthed by the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh police Jan 24.

Meanwhile, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Ravinder Singh, accused of accepting bribes from Aggarwal to let off main accused Amit Kumar, was Saturday sent to police remand for two days by a city court. Six other policemen also accused of taking the bribe are still absconding.
