Cairo : Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak discussed over the phone Saturday with Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora attempts to convince Lebanese conflicting parties to accept an Arab plan to address the political conflict in Lebanon.
Both men discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and how to bring about implementation of the three-phase Arab plan which calls for the election of army commander General Michel Suleiman as president, forming a government of national unity and wording a fresh election law, state-run news agency (MENA) reported.
Siniora has reiterated his government support to the Arab plan.
Arab League secretary general Amr Moussa had said he would be visiting Beirut tomorrow to continue his mediation efforts between the majority and opposition parties to accept the Arab plan.
