According to the Information and Press Bureau of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the Danish foreign minister said, “We differentiate between freedom of speech and insulting followers of religions.”
Such problems will leave negative impacts on relations between European countries and world Muslims, he said, adding that “We can raise the issue in the European Union meetings and make constructive decisions to this end.”
Mottaki, for his part, expressed regret over reprinting of blasphemous caricatures by Danish media and strongly condemn the move, calling for adoption of required measures to prevent recurrence of such seditious moves.

Certain western circles seek to evaluate sensitivity of Muslims through such aggressive moves, he said, adding that the European countries should enact explicit rules and regulations at national levels and within their union to prevent violation of religious sanctities under pretext of freedom of speech.
