Cairo : Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has arrived here to hold consultations with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on the latest developments of the peace process.
During his visit, he will launch the Yasser Arafat Foundation in celebrations to be held at the Arab League headquarters to be headed by Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa.
Former Palestinian Foreign Minister and chairman of the Constituent interim foundation Nasser Al-Kidwa said at a press conference held in the headquarters of the Palestinian representation here Monday, “We are coming to the house of Arabs because of the meaning of Yasser Arafat and his Arab status, in addition to the Arab dimension of the Palestinian struggle.”
He pointed out that the committee is keen on launching the Foundation in Egypt, which embraced Arafat as a child, fighter and leader.
