Memphis : India’s Sunitha Rao and her doubles partner Sophie Lefevre of France went down to American pair Carly Gullickson and Shenay Perry 0-6, 4-6 in the first round of the Memphis Open tennis tournament Tuesday.
In the US F5 Futures at Harlingen, India’s Sunil Kumar Sipaeya lost to Russian Andrey Kumantsov 2-6, 3-6 in the third of the qualifying rounds. He had earlier beaten Jarmere Jenkins of the US 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 in the second round and also beaten another American Bryan Wooten 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4 in the first round.
