Raipur : The Chhattisgarh government plans to recruit nearly 1,200 personnel who have completed a three-year medical course to boost rural healthcare in the state.
Health Minister Amar Agrawal made the announcement in the state assembly Thursday in reply to a question asked by an opposition Congress member.
The minister added that the state government has to seek permission from the central government before going ahead with the recruitment, as the three-year medical course does not have legal validity anywhere else in the country.
The 1,200 students are part of large educational institutions that once flourished in the state but have since been closed down.
