New Delhi : Finance Minister P. Chidambaram was all set to present his seventh national budget Friday amid concerns over economic slowdown and a push for reforms suggested by the economic survey unveiled a day earlier.

With a brown briefcase in hand with the budget papers, he arrived at Parliament House a little after 10 a.m. from his North Block office, before proceeding for a meeting of the union cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

His budget presentation in the lower house is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Ahead of the actual unveiling, the benchmark sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was down 105 points or 0.59 percent as the mood of investors was nervous following some warnings sounded by the economic survey.
