The clash broke out as the Israeli unit entered the Balata refugee camp in Nablus city on a “search and arrest raid”.

A third militant was wounded in the skirmish and taken in for questioning by the Israeli army.

The dead were identified as members of al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, the military wing of President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement.

Israel Wednesday launched a series of air strikes on the Gaza Strip, targeting militants, workshops and buildings belonging to the Hamas organization, which administers the Strip.

Mo’aweya Hassanein, head of emergency services at the Hamas-run Gaza ministry of health, said four children, including a six-month-old infant, were among the killed in the Israeli raids.
