Many problems with Pakistan being resolved through talks: Antony

NEW DELHI, Jan. 2 (APP): Indian Defence Minister A K Antony said India was watching developments in Pakistan with concern after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

Media reports quoting him in Thiruvananthapuram, state capital of Kerala on Wednesday said India hoped normalcy was restored in Pakistan at the earliest.

However, he said “we have nothing to say about the internal matters of Pakistan at a time when many a problem with them were being resolved through talks.

Talking to the mediapersons on the sidelines of a book launching ceremony, he said violence anywhere would be put down with a strong hand.

When asked about the cases of corruption in armed forces, he said strict measures would be taken to book the corrupt elements in the defence forces.

A number of scams have been unearthed in the armed forces including the cases of pilferage of food and clothes meant for forces fighting in Siachen.
