Muslims attacked in MP

Bhopal: According to reports from Bhopal, agitated Hindus attacked a Muslim dwelling after the murder of an ex-activist of Hindu extremist organization Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) in Sewat Kheri village of district Dewas in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, December 30, 2007.

One person was killed and three, including a woman, injured in the attack. One injured person is said to be in critical condition. Communal tension has increased in the area after this attack. No arrest has been made so far, after the killing of a member of a Muslim family, though administration has posted additional police forces in the area in view of worsening situation and curfew has been imposed.

Police superintendent of Dewas district, I.P. Kulshreshtha says some unknown persons had killed Sunil Joshi, ex-activist of RSS, on Saturday. Protesting against that incident, extremist Hindus had called for a bandh and ‘chakka jam’ today.
