New York : Two female students – an Indian and a Nepalese – were killed in a van crash in northeastern Indiana in the US.
The victims have been identified as Sweety Mazumdar, 25, from Kolkata and Apsana Giri, 26, from Kathmandu. Both were students at Bowling Green State University, Ohio.
The van crashed along the snow-covered Indiana Toll Road Wednesday when the half a dozen passengers in the van were returning to Ohio from a holiday trip to Chicago.
The police said the women died when they were ejected from the van as it overturned and rolled several times along the toll way, about 45 miles north of Fort Wayne.
Two other passengers sustained minor head injuries in the accident.
