Bhopal: A seminar on “Minorities: Detention, Torture & Discrimination” is being organized here on January 5 from 10 a.m in Mulla Ramuzi Bhavan, M.P. Urdu Academy.
The seminar is being jointly organized by the National Confederation of Human Rights Organizations, (NCHRO), and Muslim Co-ordination Committee, Bhopal.
The seminar would be presided over by NCHRO chairman Justice Hosbet Suresh, a retired judge of the Maharashtra High Court, from Mumbai. The NCHRO Secretary General Adv. K.P. Mohammad Shareef from Kerala will also attend the seminar and set in motion the proceedings with a brief introduction of the topic.
Justice Faizanuddin, a retired judge of Supreme Court, would deliver key-note address in the seminar. Mahendra Bajpayee, state secretary CPI, will also speak in the seminar along with many others.
A word about NCHRO. It was constituted at Mumbai after a National Convention on “Encounter Killings” held on June 26, 2007. It was attended by Human Right activists, NGOs, media persons and others from all over India. Some relatives of the victims from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, etc. attended the meeting.
