New Delhi : Congress president Sonia Gandhi Thursday remained admitted in a city hospital for the third day but doctors attending to her said “her condition is steadily improving”.
Gandhi was admitted to the hospital Jan 1 with a cough and a slight breathing problem. The hospital said she had a “chest infection”.
According to a hospital source, a three-member team of doctors was treating Gandhi, chairperson of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA), in a private ward.
B.K. Rao, chairman of the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Thursday said: “Sonia Gandhi has had normal food and comfortable sleep.”
He added that a CT scan of the chest was done Thursday.
“Her condition is steadily improving and she has been advised to continue rest,” he said in a bulletin.
“No decision has yet been taken about whether Sonia Gandhi should be discharged Thursday or not. A decision will be taken this evening,” a source said.
