Ahmedabad : Top-ranked women shooter Shweta Chaudhary was Friday upset by Rachna Govil of Haryana in the 10-metre Air Pistol event at the 51st Natinal Shooting Championship here.
Rachna shot a score of 477 (377+100) to clich the gold medal, while Shweta had to console herself with silver with a score of 476 (381+95). The bronze in this category went to Heena Sidhu of Punjab (475).
Punjab bagged the gold in the team category of the event with a score of 1134, while silver and bronze was won by CRPF (1110) and Maharashtra (1103).
In the other major events of the day, Vijay Kumar of Army (572) won the gold in the 25-metre Standard Pistol category defeating Olympian Samaresh Jung of CISF (565), while bronze went to Indian Airline’s Amanpreet Singh (563).
Meanwhile, in the 50 metre women’s Rifle event, Railway’s Anuja Jung clinched the gold medal with a score of 672, while Olympian Anjali Bhagwat of Maharashtra (670) had to satisfy herself with the silver. The bronze went to Army’s Meena who shot 665.
