Tendulkar and Laxman top run-getters against Australia

Sydney : Five Indians have scored more than 1,500 runs in Tests against Australia whereas only two Australians have done so against India.

Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman, who both scored their third centuries at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the first innings of the ongoing second Test, are the leading run-getters.

Tendulkar is the only player to cross the 2,000-run-mark, 2,090 from 23 matches at an average of 56.48. Laxman has 1,634 runs from 18 matches at 52.70.

Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Viswanath are the other Indians to score more than 1,500 runs against Australia.

For Australia, Allan Border with 1,567 from 20 Tests and Matthew Hayden with 1,551 from 26 Tests were the only ones to cross the coveted mark.
