Jakarta : An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Banda Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province, at 3.01am on Sunday.
Gian of the Meteorology and Geophysics office (BMG) said the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 6.11 degrees north latitude and 93.49 degrees east longitude, some 204 km west of Sabang.
The earthquake took place in a depth of 10 km under the sea level.
Gian said the earthquake did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami.
