Vienna, Jan 7, IRNA ,The UN nuclear watchdog chief Muhammad ElBaradei will visit Iran on January 11-12, said the International Atomic Energy Agency’s spokeswoman Melissa Fleming here on Monday.
Fleming said in a statement, a copy of which was made available to IRNA, that the visit will be on Iran’s invitation.
The statement said that during his stay in Iran, ElBaradei will meet a number of Iranian senior officials.
It said the IAEA Chief hopes the meeting would pave the ground to develop means for enforcement of the Safeguards in Iran and settlement of remaining issues.
It added that the meeting is also hoped to enable the IAEA to secure confidence over the past and present record of Iran’s nuclear activities.
