Kuala Lumpur : Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is visiting Malaysia beginning Thursday, will be entertained to a special concert at the Auditorium Perdana Angkasapuri on Friday, said Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin.
He said the “Konsert Setiakawan” or `Comradeship Concert’ would be performed by renowned artistes from both countries through several segments which had been specially arranged.
“The concert not only demonstrates the spirit of comradeship between the two countries but it is also to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-Indonesia relations.
“It is also to highlight the cultural ties between the two countries that cannot be separated,” he told reporters after attending the monthly assembly of the ministry staff at Angkasapuri, here Monday.
Zainuddin said that besides Susilo and his delegation, the concert would also be attended by Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, cabinet ministers as well as dignitaries from within and outside the country.
Susilo will arrive in Malaysia on Thursday to hold annual talks with Abdullah where both leaders will discuss matters of mutual interest encompassing the economy, social and political issues.
In conjunction with the visit, Susilo will also be conferred the country’s highest award by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin at the Istana Negara.
