During their meetings with the MWL’s secretary general Dr Abdullah al-Turki, they highlighted the Kingdom’s existing Rule and Shoura (Consultation) Systems.

Mohammed Sharif Ahmad, a member of the Iraqi parliament, said the Kingdom has been following the teachings of Islam in its rule system and it has successfully formulated an Islamic parliamentary work through the Shoura (Consultative) Council.

On his part, Ahmad Abdel–Dayem Mustafa, the member of the Egyptian Peoples’ Council, said the Kingdom’s Shoura system stands as a model in its shape and content as it combines between Islamic trend and modernization.

He noted that the Muslims since the era of their state in Madinah have made Shoura their principle and the Kingdom has renewed the example of the Shoura and made it as the heart and core of the contemporary parliamentary works.

Mustafa hoped that the experience of the Kingdom in the field of Shoura will be implemented in the other Muslim countries.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the Shoura Council in Indonesia Sheikh Andi Mafta Haneq said the Muslim nations are in need of returning to Islam and its systems.

The success of the Kingdom in implementing the Islamic system will make it easy for the other Muslim countries to benefit from this successful experience, he said.
