China, Nepal vow to widen ties, cooperate between armies

Beijing : China and Nepal Tuesday said they would work together to widen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.

Chinese Defence Minister Cao Gangchuan told visiting Nepalese Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katawal that bilateral relations between the two countries have been moving forward on the basis of the five principles of peaceful coexistence for many years.

China is willing to make joint efforts with Nepal to continuously deepen bilateral relations between the two countries and the two armed forces so as to contribute to regional peace, stability and common development, Cao told Katawal.

Katawal said Nepal has always seen China as a reliable neighbour and partner and is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in order to further promote bilateral relations.

Katawal said Nepal would stick to one-China policy from beginning to end.
