Death toll rises to 6 in Diyarbakir blast in Turkey

Ankara : Another student died on Tuesday of injuries from a bombing in Diyarbakir province in southeastern Turkey last Wednesday, raising the death toll to six in the incident, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Tuesday.

Engin Taskaya, who was injured along with 67 others during the attack, died at a hospital on Tuesday, the authorities concerned were quoted as saying.

Some injured people are still under medical care at Dicle University Hospital, according to the report.

The last Wednesday bomb attack targeted a military personnel bus in Diyarbakir, where most Kurds are living, which was staged by a car bomb when the bus was passing near Dedeman Hotel at Mimar Sinan Street in Yenisehir district.
