DQ Entertainment wins Deloitte service award

Chennai : DQ Entertainment, one of the largest animation and gaming companies in India, has won the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific award for the second year.

It has also won an Emmy for its TV series “Tutenstein”, co-produced with Porch Light Entertainment for Discovery Kids.

DQ Entertainment operates seven production facilities in Hyderabad and Manila and employs over 2,200 people.

DQ plans to consolidate its high-end game development with a newly launched Technology Centre III, a modern facility for in-game animation content development for next generation consoles like XBox 360, PSIII, Nintendo, and handheld, online and mobile games, the company said in a release here.

The company is also foraying into publishing of comics.

Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific awards, now in its sixth year, is an initiative by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, an organisation of member firms including more than 80 percent of the world’s largest companies from around the world devoted to client service excellence.

The ranking is done on a company’s steady growth rate, skilled manpower and expansion initiatives.

DQ has been listed in the Alternative Investment Market in the London Stock Exchange, raising some $54 million for expansion and joint ventures.

DQ has also entered the home video market in strategic association with Moser Baer for distribution of their animation series “Pet Pals” and “Ratman”, in collaboration with Gruppo Alcuni and Stranemani of Italy.

The company does business with BBC Worldwide, Sony Group, American Greetings, Method Films and many international broadcasters and distributors for TV programming, feature films and direct to home videos.
