New Delhi : Arun Ramanathan, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1973 batch, was Tuesday appointed secretary, department of financial services, in the ministry of finance.
Ramanathan, who was earlier secretary in the department of chemicals & petrochemicals, replaced Vinod Rai, who took over Monday as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Rai, who replaced V.N. Kaul, was administered the oath of office by President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
