These Hajjis became agitated as they stepped down because luggages of most of them did not arrive and they complained that they have to spend half day and a whole night at Jeddah airport in very pathetic condition.

One of the Haji, Sajid Ali showed a copy of FIR to the airport authorities and said that this is registered at Kolkata airport by Bihar pilgrims against Air India and if Air India and airport authority would not improve themselves then more FIRs will be registered.

“The airlines failed to make any arrangement for pilgrims’ convenience who were ignored from the very get-go. To add insult to injury, the airlines lost luggage of over 500 passengers in Jeddah and Kolkata airports,” Ali said.

Iliyas Khan Convener of the volunteers’ committee told that second flight came here at 4:30 p.m. on the same day carrying 103 Hajjes. Third and fourth flight landed at 05:30 p.m. with 102 pilgrims and at 08:30 p.m. with 103 pilgrims respectively.

None of the Hajis of fourth flight got Zamzam (a holy water) water whereas 30 pilgrims of third flight did not get it. Many had few items of their baggage missing and checked-in baggage did not arrive for 50 Hajis.

Patna Airport was full of the relatives who waited long time to receive returning Hajis on Monday.
