Jammu : Former coalition partner National Panthers Party MLAs today stormed the Well of the Legislative Assembly demanding implementation of Delimitation Commission, which was opposed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and National Conference (NC) members in one voice.

The Legislative Assembly witnessed uproar during the Zero Hour when the members of Panthers Party, BJP and State Morcha came down heavily upon the state government for non implementation of delimitation commission.

Demanding implementation of delimitation commission Panthers chief Whip Harsh Dev Singh accused the government of discriminating with the people of Jammu region.

He was soon joined by his party MLA’s and the members of BJP and state Morcha.

Amid slogan rising, the members came in the Well of the House to stage protest against `discrimination by the government’.

Slogans like “Jammu Kay Sath Baid Bhaw Band Karo … Band Karo …Band Karo…” and “Delimitation Commission Lago Karo Lago Karo…” soon filled the air in the House as NPP, BJP and State Morcha members stormed the well of the House.

Pointing towards Speaker, Balwant Singh Mankotia said, “How will you face the people of your constituency”.

PDP MLA Sayed Bashir was first to counter the demand. “We have to identity and throw out Lakhs of non-residents settled in the state illegally and then demand Delimitation commission”, he said.

Harsh, however, continued with his slogans, “Regional Imbalance Ko Band Karo Band Karo” and “Nikami Sarkar Hi Hi—-“, the members protesting in the Well staged a walkout from the House.

This time it was PHE minister Dilawar Mir to shout back, “If there was any discrimination it was with Kashmir”. He said that the members were wasting the precious time of the House.

Meanwhile Opposition leader AR Rather criticized the demand and said that implementation of the Commissions report was not possible at this stage.

Harsh Dev Singh, who till than had returned back to the House, tried to interrupt Rahter. “Chilaye Mat”, he said while pointing towards Harsh. “If you want to implement the delimitation commission report you have to first amend the constitution and for that let a bill be brought in the House”.

To this Balwant Singh Mankotia remarked, “Sarkar Hi Nahin, Ab To Opposition Bhi Dhoka Kar Rahi Hai”.

Sharief-ud-Din Shariq of NC was quick to respond, “Jab Kursi Nahni Rahi To Yad Aaya’.
