Gaza : Three Palestinian militants have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a car they were travelling in near the beach refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, paramedics and witnesses have said.
Witnesses said they heard a loud explosion Sunday night and saw flames coming out of the targeted car before ambulances and fire fighters arrived at the scene.
An Israeli military spokesman in Tel Aviv confirmed the air strike, saying it targeted two militants. One was involved in rocket fire into Israel and was from the al-Aqsa Brigades, loosely affiliated with the Fatah party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, while the second was active in the Popular Resistance Committees.
Palestinian witnesses in Gaza said the three killed were militants with the Islamic Jihad.
