UAE most globalised Arab country

Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the most globalised Arab country followed by Saudi Arabia, according to a report released by a research organisation.

The report by Center for Research in Economics, Management and the Arts (CREMA) which is affiliated to Switzerland’s Zurich University, ranked the UAE as the world’s 35th most globalised country, WAM news agency reported Sunday.

Saudi Arabia was ranked 36th and Kuwait was at the 40th position.

The report took into consideration 24 criteria, including a country’s actual economic flows, economic restrictions, attractiveness to foreign direct investments, information flows, quality of telephone and Internet services and numbers of foreigners to determine the ranks.

According to the report, the world’s most globalised country was Belgium, followed by Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Britain, Czech Republic, France, Finland and Germany.
