On Board Air India One : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday said “there is no deadline” on the nuclear deal with the US but agreed that there were problems still and “there is no doubt we have to take an early decision”.
Answering questions from accompanying journalists as he returned from a three-day visit to China, the prime minister also said he had got no “firm definite answer” from China on support to India’s efforts with the Nuclear Suppliers Group of which China is a member, but added “when the issue comes up before the relevant agencies I don’t think China will be an obstacle”.
“I can’t say that I have an assurance today (from China),” the prime minister said.
