Anand Wijk Aan Zee (Netherlands) : Even as victory continued to elude World champion Viswanathan Anand in the 70th edition of the Corus Grandmasters chess tournament, India’s emerging superstar Pentala Harikrishna outplayed back-bencher Dutchman Wouter Spoelman to move up with the leaders in Group B.
Koneru Humpy played a fine draw with Nigel Short in Group B. Parimarjan Negi, showing signs of finding his form, scored a second successive win in Group C beating China’s Li Shilong.
While Anand continues to stay at tied 10th with 1.5 points from four rounds, Harikrishna leads Group B with three points alongside Dutchman Jan Smeets and Etienne Bacrot of France.
Negi is tied seventh in Group C and Humpy is still in 13th place.
