Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt : Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said here on Wednesday that Egypt is ready to work together with the United States to promote a comprehensive and fair peace in the Middle East and help solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
At a joint press conference with his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush following their meeting, Mubarak said that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was regarded as the core issue of the regional affairs.
The Egyptian president also reiterated his country’s support to the efforts of promoting the Mideast peace process, adding that Egypt is ready to work hand in hand with the United States in this respect.
Bush flew into Sharm el-Sheikh earlier in the day from Saudi Arabia and stayed in Egypt only some three hours, during which he discussed regional and bilateral issues with Mubarak.
Following the press conference, Bush left the Red Sea resort, wrapping up his Mideast visit that aimed at winning Arab support for his Mideast policy.
