Beijing : Chinese President Hu Jintao promised to intensify the anti-corruption fight, a task he rated as long, complex, and hard, local press highlighted on Wednesday.
The Chinese leader called for the members of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party to recognize the situation, and the hard tasks ahead.
Measures against corruption and for the preservation of the integrity must permeate the whole economic, political, and cultural structure, as well as the working style, organization, and ideology of the Party, he explained.
Hu Jintao highlighted the Party’s role in this task, both in the detection of corruption practices, and getting to know their causes and fighting them.
The president added that education, control, and punishment must come together to allow for a better atmosphere, a system, and a legal base against corrupt people.
Hintao considered that the Party must investigate the cases, reinforce prevention, eliminate the breeding ground for that scourge, and severely punish corrupt officials as far as the law allows.
