Kathmandu : At least ten people were killed and 27 others were injured when a passenger bus caught fire in southern Nepal Friday, local media reported.
At around 5:20 p.m. (GMT 1135), the bus caught fire when crossing over Pasaha river on the border of Bara and Rautahat districts, some 60 km south of capital Kathmandu, THT Online website reported.
According to eyewitnesses, a loud explosion was heard before the bus caught fire. The police did not confirm the blast.
The injured have been taken to local hospital for treatment, the police said, adding that the condition of the injured was critical and the toll was expected to rise.
