Melbourne : Sania Mirza’s run at the Australian Open tennis came to an end when she lost in straight sets to eighth seed American Venus Williams in the third round Saturday.
Williams won 7-6, 6-4, but the match was much closer than the straight-sets score line might suggest. Williams took 92 minutes for the win. She enters the fourth round where she meets the winner of the match between Li Na of China and Marta Domachowska of Poland.
