Beirut : Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri has said that the postponement of the parliament session to elect a new president was to give a chance for the dialogue between Saad Al-Hariri, General Michel Oun and former President Amin Al-Jumayel to be completed.
The tripartite dialogue is sponsored by Arab League Chief Amr Moussa.
Earlier, Berri’s office said that the presidential vote session was postponed o Feb 11.
Berri noted that the Lebanese parties had started a serious dialogue to reach a consensus based on the Arab initiative and Moussa’s efforts which he would continue to clear obstacles blocking the way.
The Lebanese parliament Speaker noted that Moussa’ efforts would go on to remove obstacles relevant to the topics discussed during the meeting between the leader of the Future Bloc, Al-Hariri, leader of the Reform and Change Coalition, General Michel Oun, and the Phalange Party head, Amin Gemayel.
