Melbourne : India’s Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamas partner Mark Knowles entered the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles event at the Australian Open, thrashing the eleventh-seeded Polish duo Marius Fyrstenberg and Martcio Matkowski in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2 here Monday.
The sixth-seeded Indo-Bahamas pair won the match in a little over an hour. They will next meet top-seeded American pair Bryan twins, Bob and Mike, who beat the French pair Julien-Benneteau and Nicloas Mahut 6-3,6-4.
