The event is aimed at emphasising the need to promote business incubation and thereby drive the economic growth of the country to newer heights.

This year the theme will be “Global leadership through innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship”.

Along with the ISBA 2008 meet, Technopark would also hold two prestigious events, which include the meeting of National Advisory Committee (NAC) for STEPs under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and National Meet of the TePP Outreach Centres (TUC) under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).

The three-day ISBA conference seeks to create a proper framework for the incubation process and to institutionalise it’s working, covering all facets of business activity.

Further, the aim is also to create a platform for all stakeholders to converge to find ways on how business incubation can contribute towards the equitable creation of wealth and thereby benefit all sections of the society.

The conference will bring together ISBA members, academia, research and development institutions and other players from the industry, to work out strategies for making India’s growth more broad-based.

R.K. Nair, CEO, Technopark, said: “It is a great honour bestowed on Technopark to host ISBA 2008 along with the other two events of DST and DSIR.”

“The conference aims at finding ways to strengthen the incubation establishment in the country in order to make it one of the prime drivers of the Indian Economy. We are very positive that with some of the best brains in the country attending the event, the incubation and entrepreneurship initiatives of Technopark will reach a mature form,” said Nair.

ISBA is the apex professional body supporting business incubators across the country.

Set up in 2004, ISBA primarily promotes business incubation activities by acting as a network for Indian Business incubators, STEPs and other related organisations.
