NEW DELHI, Jan 23 APP: India will demonstrate its military might on Republic Day by putting on display frontline T-90 battle tanks, Brahmos and Agni missiles and Israeli upgraded 155MM artillery guns.
On the Republic Day falling on January 26, strict security measures have been taken and barricades and posts have been set up on the roads to prevent any untoward incident.
A full-fledged rehearsal was conducted on Wednesday in the city where roads were blocked causing traffic jams for several hours.
The other military equipment which would be part of the parade include Dhanush Missiles, long range Smerch Rocket system, BLT T-72 (the Bridge Laying Tanks), 155 SOLTOM Guns, Tanguska Air Defence Gun System, Sarvatra Bridge, Mobile Network Connect Centre, Infantry Combat Vehicle – BMP II K and Carrier Mortar tracked Vehicle.
A total of 13 serving, retired and civilian Param Vir Chakra and Ashok Chakra awardees would also participate in the parade.
Kashmiris will observe this day as black day and complete strike will be observed throughout occupied Kashmir.
