New Delhi : Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Acting Secretary General Syed Ghulam Akber has severely condemned the Union Government’s decision to extend the visa of "mischievous" and controversial Bangladeshi
writer Taslima Nasreen and demanded to revoke her visa.
In a statement released here Saturday, the JIH leader called the decision "unwise and tantamount to playing with the sentiments of the principled and religious traditions of Indians, especially Muslims."
He called upon the government not to hurt the sentiments of the citizens of the country for the sake of a foreign controversial lady.
He demanded from the government to retract the decision.
"Do not permit her to live further in India,"
he said.
