Jeddah : The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) made an urgent appeal on Jan 26 2008 to civil society and relief organizations in the Islamic world to support Palestinians held under siege in the Gaza strip.
In a statement today, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu called on all organizations in the member states to coordinate their relief efforts in order to bring urgent humanitarian aids to the suffering Gazans under the umbrella of OIC.
On Jan 24, the OIC had announced a forthcoming emergency meeting of its member states foreign ministers, due in Jeddah on Feb 3, to review the current situation in the Gaza strip and provide the needed humanitarian aids to Palestinians afflicted by Israelis blockade and relentless aggression.
