New Delhi : State-owned power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL) plans to pick up equity in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board’s (TNEB) 1,600-MW Udangudi supercritical thermal project near Chennai, said a senior company official.
The two sides are in talks for finalising modalities for allocation of equity to BHEL in the project, the official said.
BHEL will also supply key equipment like boiler and turbine generator to the project. The price is to be decided through negotiations, he said.
BHEL and TNEB signed a memorandum of understanding last Oct to this effect, the official said.
