New Delhi : Veteran journalist Kirit Bhaumik has died here after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 79.
Bhaumik worked for the Unite Press of India (UPI) news agency before moving to The Times of India. During his three decades with the newspaper, he reported the Bangladesh liberation war in 1971 and reported from Dhaka for five years.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
