Muslims not responsible for partition: Asghar Ali Engineer

Saharanpur: Muslim masses cannot be held responsible for the partition of India in 1947. The country was divided as a result of personal interests of a handful of leaders, said prominent scholar Asghar Ali Engineer.

Attending a workshop on “Maintaining Peace and Solution of Conflicts” in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he said justice for all at all levels was a must for peace and dialogue was a better way of resolving conflicts. He also accused the U.S. for disturbing peace in the world.

The five-day workshop was attended by social organizations from across the state. The workshop was organized by the Center for Study of Society and Secularism in cooperation with the social organization Parcham.
