Abu Dhabi : Dubai will invest some $817 million (three billion dirhams) to build the world’s longest arched bridge in the downtown Dubai Creek, local newspaper Khaleej Times reported Wednesday.
According to the report, the bridge, the sixth crossing over the Dubai Creek, will be 1,600 meters long and 64 meters wide, with a 205-metre-high and 667-metre-long arch.
When completed, it will stand 15 metres above the water surface.
The bridge will comprise 12 lanes, 6 in each direction, with the Green Line of Dubai Metro, a fully automated metro network under construction, running through its centre.
The project will be completed in six phases in four years. The construction of the first phase will be launched in March this year.
