Hyderabad : A senior officer of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was shot dead by a constable at the paramilitary force’s group centre here Thursday evening following an argument between them over the constable’s leave.
S.S. Khan, additional deputy inspector general of CRPF, was shot dead by constable Hanumanth Raju at the CRPF group centre, Chandrayangutta, in the old city part of Hyderabad.
The police said Khan was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. One of the two bullets fired by the constable pierced through the officer’s eye.
The constable was arrested and the police launched formal inquiry.
