Islamabad : In fresh violence in a Pakistani tribal region, a militant commander along with seven fellows were killed on Monday, officials said.
Dead bodies of eight people were found near a bridge in the already troubled Kurram Agency.
A tribal militant commander known as “Raja” and seven of his group members were kidnapped from the area few days ago.
The local administration confirmed that eight bodies were recovered.
Sources said that those killed were involved in militancy and criminal activities in parts of Lower Kurram and they had also been involved in clashes with other group of militants.
“Raja’ was linked to local Taliban initially but later he established his own group and dispute between the slain militants group with local Taliban continued for few months.
This fresh incident created panic among the population who are already faced with sectarian clashes.
