New Delhi : A young couple was found dead under mysterious circumstances in their house in Delhi, police said Wednesday. The couple had married seven months back.
According to the police, Riya, 25, was found lying dead on a bed inside their Shalimar Bagh house Tuesday morning.
“Her body bore strangulation marks,” a police official said.
The body of her husband Dheeraj Kumar, 28, was found hanging from the ceiling in the same room.
“We received a call at around 7.35 in the morning from the family members,” the police official added.
The couple was living on the first floor of the house with Dheeraj’s family, which included his parents and two brothers.
“Family told us that in morning they called Dheeraj but his room was locked from inside. However, when they tried again and he didn’t respond, they broke open the door,” the official said.
“They found Riya’s body lying on the bed and Dheeraj hanging from the ceiling,” the police official added.
The police is suspecting that Dheeraj may have killed Riya before hanging himself. But no suicide note has been found.
“Dheeraj used to own an agency of a soft drink brand,” the police official said.
