Indonesian President Susilo to visit Japan, Malaysia

Jakarta : Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is to visit Japan and Malaysia next week to attend the G8 and D8 summits, state spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said here Wednesday.

The president would be in Japan from July 8 to 10 to attend theG8 summit in Toyajo, Hokkaido, said Dino.

The member countries of the G8 are Canada, the United States, Germany, French, the United Kingdom, Japan, Russia and Italy.

Prior to the visit, President Susilo would be in Malaysia from July 6 to 8 to attend the sixth meeting of the Developing 8 countries (D8), the spokesman said.

In the meeting, President Susilo, who is now chairman of the D8countries, will hand over his leadership to Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi, said Dino.
