Bhubaneswar : Maoist guerrillas blew up a cellphone tower, burnt an earth digging machine and blocked roads in several parts of Orissa, police said Thursday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Sanjib Panda said the rebels blocked many roads using wooden logs and boulders to enforce a shutdown called by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Wednesday.
The rebels blew up a Reliance cellphone tower in Jaduguda village in Koraput district and set its maintenance room on fire. Some guerrillas also burnt an earth digging machine in Malkangiri district, Panda said.
