Abu Dhabi : UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held discussions here with Amr Moussa, Secretary-General of the Arab League.
Sheikh Khalifa and the visiting Arab League chief discussed the latest developments in the region, with particular emphasis on the need for closer Arab coordination, which is seen as the best approach for handling current and emerging challenges.
During the meeting, Moussa also briefed the president on efforts being exerted to foster Arab unity and unify ranks.
Sheikha Khalifa stressed the need to render every support possible to the Arab League.
For his part, Moussa lauded the unfailing support lent to the Arab League by the UAE under the able leadership of Sheikh Khalifa.
“The UAE has played a pivotal role in resolving many inter-Arab problems. Besides, the UAE is still playing a crucial role in the development of many Arab countries. The UAE aid is currently helping a number of Arab countries to overcome problems of food security,” Moussa said.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs in addition to other sheikhs and senior ministers.
